Before You Move In
- Can I tour the dormitory?

Tours of the dormitory are not available outside of scheduled events.
However, Keishiryo Dormitory tours are offered during the Open Campus event held each August. We encourage you to take this opportunity to see the dormitory for yourself. - Do I need to prepare any documents before moving in?

Yes. You will need to complete procedures such as submitting a residence agreement, registering for automatic bank transfers, and enrolling in insurance.
A full set of required documents will be mailed to students whose move-in has been approved. - How is this different from a private student apartment?
- The dormitory is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
A live-in dormitory manager and house mother provide daily support and guidance for residents. One key difference is the presence of trusted adults nearby whom residents can rely on whenever needed. - Can I work part-time?
- Yes.
Please submit the required form to the dormitory management office. - Are there any rules?
- Yes. There are basic rules in place to ensure everyone can live together harmoniously.
Serious or repeated violations of these rules may result in removal from the dormitory. - Is there a curfew?
- Yes.
The front door is locked at 23:00. - Can parents or friends stay overnight or visit?
- Overnight stays are not permitted,
and visitors are not allowed to enter resident rooms. However, visitors may access the first-floor entrance area. - Can I bring a bicycle, motorcycle, or car?
- One bicycle parking space is provided per resident.
Motorcycles and cars are not permitted. - Can I live in the dormitory for all four years until graduation?
- No. The maximum period of residence is two years.
- Can I bring my own bedding?
- No.
Residents are required to use the university-provided bedding and linen service. - Can I bring electrical appliances?
- Please submit the required form at the time of move-in. Each request will be reviewed on an individual basis.
However, approval may be denied due to electrical capacity limits or other considerations. - What is the ratio of domestic to international students?
- The ratio is approximately three domestic students to two international students.
This may vary slightly from year to year.
Meals
- Are meals provided?
- No.
Each floor has a shared kitchen in the community lounge, and most residents prepare their own meals. - Are cookware and tableware provided?
- No.
Please bring your own cookware and tableware when you move in. Many residents also choose to purchase these items after arrival.
Facilities and Amenities
- What amenities are provided in the rooms?
- Each room is equipped with a desk, desk lamp, chair, bed with mattress, closet, ceiling light, air conditioning, curtains, and a balcony.
- What amenities are available outside of the rooms?
- The community lounge is equipped with cooking appliances such as microwaves, toasters, electric kettles, IH cooktops, and rice cookers.
Other shared amenities include washing machines, coin-operated tumble dryers, hair dryers, irons, vacuum cleaners, televisions, communal bathing facilities, and vending machines. - Do I need to apply to use the internet?
- No.
The dormitory uses the university’s network, so no separate application, setup, or registration is required.
Move-In Process
- I am a prospective student. When should I apply?
- Please apply after you have received your admission offer.
Applications cannot be submitted before admission is confirmed. - Can all admitted students live in the dormitory?
- No. An interview is conducted as part of the screening process for residence.
Depending on the results, applications for the dormitory may be declined. - Can international students live in the dormitory?
- Yes.
However, first-year international students should contact the International Student Office before applying. - Can currently enrolled students apply to live in the dormitory?
- Yes,
except for fourth-year students. - Can I move in partway through the academic year?
- No. Domestic students may only move in in April.
International students may move in at the start of either the April or September term. - Can I choose my room?
- No.
Rooms are assigned by the university.
Payment and Fees
- How much is the monthly dormitory fee?
- The monthly dormitory fee is 60,000 yen (tax included).
- What does the dormitory fee include?
- The dormitory fee includes water, electricity, bedding rental, and internet usage.
- How much do I need to pay at move-in?
- A total of 150,000 yen is required, consisting of a 30,000-yen move-in fee and 120,000 yen for the first two months of Dormitory fees.
- How is the monthly dormitory fee paid?
- A bank account must be registered during the move-in process.
The dormitory fee for the following month is automatically debited on the 27th of each month. - What should I do if automatic debit is not possible? How can I pay the dormitory fee?
- Use the designated payment slip to make your payment.
You are responsible for any bank transfer fees. - What happens if I fall behind on dormitory fee payments?
- If you fall behind on payments for two months or more, the dormitory will require you to move out.
Agreement
- Can I extend my occupancy after the agreement period ends?
- No.
The maximum period of residence is two years. - Can I move out before the agreement period ends?
- Early move-out is generally not permitted, except in unavoidable circumstances.
Moving In
- How is the move-in date determined?
- The university designates the move-in date and time.
Changes are generally not permitted, except in special circumstances. - Can parents or guardians help with moving on move-in day?
- Yes.
On move-in day only, parents or guardians are permitted to enter resident rooms.
